Weather Education
To more fully understand the "what"s and "why"s of weather, explore some of these weather education sites.

JetStream
JetStream is a wonderfully comprehensive weather education resource.  It's the National Weather Service Online Weather School, so dive in!  Start at the beginning or, if you feel more comfortable with the subject, jump to topics that interest you.

NOAA Education Resources
NOAA (The National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration) is involved with a lot of education outreach efforts.  Browse around to see if anything interests you.  You may even be able to get involve with NOAA activities in your area!

MetEd
MetEd offers lessons about all sorts of meteorological topics.  Many of them have recorded lectures and videos, so you can hear experts explain topics in their own words.  Lessons cover different topics, but it can be difficult to know where to begin.  If you want a more straight-forward introduction to the field of atmospheric science, try JetStream, linked above.
